Commissioner General Brightwell Nkambule said the performance demonstrates consistency, resilience, and a clear strategic focus.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe outcome reflects disciplined execution across domestic tax and customs operations, sustained taxpayer engagement, and the consistent efforts of ERS staff to secure revenue that funds Government\u2019s mandate,\u201d said Nkambule.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond the annual figures, the long-term trajectory paints an even more compelling picture. Over the past decade, domestic revenue has steadily increased year-on-year, positioning Eswatini on a firmer and more predictable fiscal path.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDomestic revenue collections have grown from E4.79 billion in 2012\/13 to E15.72 billion in 2025\/26, more than tripling over the period,\u201d Nkambule noted.<\/p>\n<p>This upward trend is particularly important as it reduces the country\u2019s dependence on volatile external revenue streams such as receipts from the Southern African Customs Union (SACU). While domestic revenue has shown steady growth, SACU receipts declined sharply by 20.4% in a single year, falling from E13.07 billion in 2024\/25 to E10.40 billion in 2025\/26.<\/p>\n<p>The shift toward domestic resource mobilisation is enabling Government to plan and implement national programmes with greater certainty and stability.<\/p>\n<p>ERS also highlighted its commitment to fairness and economic support through timely tax refunds. A total of E3.49 billion was paid out in refunds during the period, including E3.48 billion in VAT refunds and E6.37 million in income tax refunds.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRefunds are a core part of a credible tax system. They protect taxpayer rights, support business cash flow, and reinforce confidence that the system works fairly and lawfully,\u201d Nkambule emphasized.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to strong revenue performance, ERS recorded notable progress in customer satisfaction. The organisation achieved a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 83.96%, a significant improvement from 77.3% in the previous year, reflecting enhanced service delivery and growing public trust.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cExcellence in service delivery remains a central pillar in our organisational strategy and ensures sustainable revenue performance,\u201d Nkambule said.<\/p>\n<p>Looking ahead to the 2026\/27 financial year, ERS has committed to sustaining this momentum by deepening compliance programmes, improving service channels, and strengthening partnerships with taxpayers and stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe sincerely thank our compliant taxpayers and traders whose contributions keep the country working.
