Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>In a significant step toward securing the Kingdom\u2019s natural heritage, the Eswatini National Trust Commission (ENTC) is April 8, 2026, hosting a high-level validation workshop to fortify the nation\u2019s environmental defenses.<\/b><\/p>\n

Held at the historic King Sobhuza II Memorial Park Auditorium, the event focuses on the Capacity and Resource Needs Assessment and Capacity Development Plan for the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF).<\/p>\n

The gathering brings together key national stakeholders, experts, and conservationists, all united by a single mission: advancing Eswatini\u2019s biodiversity conservation efforts to meet international standards while addressing local needs.<\/p>\n

Opening the event on behalf of the ENTC\u2019s Chief Executive Officer, Chief Finance Officer Mduduzi Ndzinisa extended heartfelt gratitude to stakeholders and partners for their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the Kingdom\u2019s rich biological diversity.<\/p>\n

He emphasized that the Kunming-Montreal GBF is not just a document, but a global roadmap designed to halt and reverse biodiversity loss by the year 2030.<\/p>\n

Ndzinisa highlighted that for Eswatini to turn these global ambitions into tangible results, the nation must look beyond mere policy, as success demands robust institutions and highly skilled professionals.<\/p>\n

He further noted that the path forward requires seamless stakeholder coordination and, crucially, the establishment of sustainable financing mechanisms to keep these projects running.<\/p>\n

The workshop is designed to be a collaborative engine, focusing on several critical objectives to ensure the Kingdom is fully prepared for future implementation.<\/p>\n

Participants are working together to identify and strengthen national capacity priorities specifically tailored for GBF implementation while enhancing stakeholder input to ensure the roadmap is truly owned by Emaswati.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the session aims to strengthen the pathways for financial and technical resources needed to fuel conservation projects and formally validate the capacity and resource needs assessment to create a solid development plan.<\/p>\n

Central to the discussions is the effective implementation of the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP), which serves as the Kingdom\u2019s primary guide for nature conservation.<\/p>\n

Experts at the workshop agreed that the success of this plan hinges on improved institutional capacity and the availability of reliable data for informed decision-making.<\/p>\n

Having accurate information at their fingertips will allow leaders to make choices that balance environmental protection with national development goals.<\/p>\n
