Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>The Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force (UEDF) has confirmed its full readiness for the 53rd Army Day celebrations set for April 10, 2026, at the Nokwane Defence Headquarters.<\/b><\/p>\n

UEDF Public Relations Officer, Major Sandile Gwebu, revealed during an interview on April 9 that preparations are at an advanced stage, with final touches being made ahead of the highly anticipated national event.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are fully prepared and continuing with final rehearsals to ensure a successful and memorable Army Day,\u201d said Gwebu.<\/p>\n

The event will be graced by Her Majesty the Indlovukazi and His Majesty King Mswati III, who, as Commander-in-Chief, has sanctioned the hosting of the celebrations at Nokwane. His presence is expected to highlight the significance of the day in recognising the defence force\u2019s role in safeguarding the nation.<\/p>\n

Gwebu further noted that there will be no pass-out parade this year, as there were no recent recruit intakes at Mbuluzi Barracks, with new recruits yet to commence training.<\/p>\n

Adding to the preparations, 2nd Lieutenant Nompilo Msibi, who played the role of Her Majesty the Indlovukazi during rehearsals, emphasised the importance of discipline among troops.<\/p>\n

\u201cTroops have been urged to remain focused and deliver a flawless performance that reflects the strength and professionalism of the defence force,\u201d said Msibi.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Army Day follows a successful nationwide community outreach programme, which saw members of the defence force engaging with emaSwati and providing essential services across the country, strengthening ties between the military and civilians.<\/p>\n

Held under the theme \u201cThe Safety of the Nation is Our Priority,\u201d the celebrations will feature precision military drills, a disciplined march past, and thrilling helicopter aerial displays showcasing the force\u2019s operational readiness.<\/p>\n

Army Commander Lieutenant General Moses Mashikilisane Fakudze has also urged troops to uphold the highest standards of discipline and excellence during the event.<\/p>\n

Army Day remains one of the country\u2019s most significant national events, providing a platform for the UEDF to demonstrate its unity, capability, and unwavering commitment to safeguarding the Kingdom of Eswatini.<\/p>\n
