Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Appointed Member of Parliament (MP) Tsembeni Magongo has called on Emaswati to embrace a more forward-looking mindset and align themselves with the progressive vision of His Majesty King Mswati III as the country marks his 40-year milestone on the throne.<\/b><\/p>\n

Magongo said the King has, over the years, demonstrated exceptional foresight in steering the country towards development, often thinking ahead of his people. She said it was now incumbent upon Emaswati to rise to the occasion and match that level of vision if meaningful and accelerated progress is to be realised.<\/p>\n

She further urged the nation to continue praying for the King, expressing confidence that his reliance on divine guidance has been a cornerstone of his leadership since his enthronement on April 25, 1986.<\/p>\n

Call for faster national progress<\/b><\/p>\n

Magongo emphasised that while the King has consistently charted a clear development path for the country, the pace at which citizens respond to that vision remains a critical factor. She noted that bridging this gap would require a collective shift in mindset, where innovation, adaptability and forward planning become central to the national ethos.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn order for us to truly benefit from His Majesty\u2019s vision, we must also position ourselves to think ahead and act decisively,\u201d she said. \u201cDevelopment is a shared responsibility, and it requires all of us to move in the same direction.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added that aligning with the King\u2019s vision would not only accelerate economic growth but also enhance service delivery and improve the overall quality of life for citizens.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on historic moments<\/b><\/p>\n

The MP also took time to reflect on the historic moments surrounding the King\u2019s installation, recalling how he was first introduced to the nation at the cattle byre (Esibayeni) at Ludzidzini Royal Residence before his coronation at Somhlolo National Stadium.<\/p>\n

Magongo, who witnessed both events, said the King openly acknowledged the enormity of the responsibility he was assuming. She said his appeal for national support during that time remains relevant even today, as the country continues to navigate various development challenges.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat moment showed humility and a deep understanding of leadership,\u201d she said. \u201cHe recognised that he could not do it alone and called upon the nation to stand with him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Faith and leadership<\/b><\/p>\n

Magongo commended the King for his unwavering faith, noting that his trust in God has played a significant role in guiding his decisions throughout his 40-year reign. She said this spiritual grounding has contributed to stability and continuity in leadership, even during difficult times.<\/p>\n

She highlighted that under the King\u2019s leadership, Eswatini has witnessed notable development across various sectors, including infrastructure, education and social services. According to Magongo, these achievements are evident to those who travel beyond the country\u2019s borders and are able to compare Eswatini\u2019s progress with that of other nations.<\/p>\n

Culture remains a pillar<\/b><\/p>\n

In addition to development, Magongo praised Emaswati for their steadfast commitment to preserving their cultural heritage. She pointed to national events such as Buganu, Umhlanga and Incwala as enduring symbols of unity, identity and pride.<\/p>\n

She said the consistent celebration of these traditions demonstrates the nation\u2019s ability to balance modern development with cultural preservation.<\/p>\n

Magongo concluded by expressing optimism about the country\u2019s future, saying that if Emaswati can match the King\u2019s futuristic outlook while maintaining their cultural values, Eswatini is well-positioned to achieve sustainable growth and long-term prosperity.<\/p>\n
