Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>The Ministry of Labour and Social Security has taken a major step towards strengthening employment and social protection systems with the official launch of a workshop to develop Eswatini\u2019s third-generation Decent Work Country Programme (DWCP) for 2026\u20132030.<\/b><\/p>\n

The workshop, opened by Principal Secretary Makhosini Mndawe, brings together key stakeholders including representatives from the International Labour Organization, employers\u2019 and workers\u2019 organisations, members of the DWCP National Steering Committee, and senior government officials. The engagement marks the beginning of a collaborative process to shape policies that will drive inclusive economic growth and improved livelihoods for Emaswati.<\/p>\n

In his opening remarks, Mndawe pointed out the importance of sustained partnership among tripartite stakeholders in advancing the country\u2019s decent work agenda. He commended the continued support from the International Labour Organization and acknowledged the collective commitment shown by all partners in promoting fair labour practices and social justice.<\/p>\n

The Decent Work Country Programme serves as a strategic framework guiding national efforts to expand productive employment opportunities, strengthen social protection systems, uphold labour rights, and enhance social dialogue. The upcoming 2026\u20132030 programme aims to build on the progress made under previous cycles while responding to emerging socio-economic challenges.<\/p>\n

Participants at the workshop are tasked with reviewing the implementation of the 2022\u20132025 DWCP, identifying key achievements and lessons learned, and setting priority focus areas for the next phase. The process will also include the development of a draft workplan for 2026\u20132027 and the initial drafting of a results-oriented and inclusive programme aligned with national priorities and global development commitments.<\/p>\n

Mndawe pointed out that inclusivity, data-driven planning, and strong implementation mechanisms will be essential to the programme\u2019s success. He encouraged active participation from all stakeholders to ensure the final framework reflects a shared vision for sustainable development and decent work for all.<\/p>\n

The initiative aligns with the broader goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, reinforcing Eswatini\u2019s commitment to building a resilient and inclusive economy.<\/p>\n
