Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Victor Ndlovu, the Managing Director of Mwelase Mining says he would like to see the youth and residents benefiting from the re-opened Ngwenya Mine.<\/b><\/p>\n

On Sunday afternoon, the Managing Director said he would like to see a young businessman getting a loan from the bank to buy trucks after securing a contract with the Mine.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy idea, my thinking and the way we are trying to do things is that firstly, we must look at the local people.I don\u2019t want to consider only big contractors for tenders because by so doing, we are not growing the people but giving money to one person. If a young person can afford to secure a loan and buy a truck, that\u2019s what we want, we want to grow young people. Yes, we can consider big contractors for others things so that we can increase production but everyone must benefit,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

When asked if he was aware that there were powerful and politically connected people who had already started demanding huge monies from aspiring contractors, amounting to one hundred thousand Rands(R100,000.00),promising to award tenders, the Mwelase Mining Director warned businesspeople not to dare entertain those people.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow can an investor demand money from people who are looking for business contracts? It doesn\u2019t make sense, an investor is the one who is supposed to pay the contractors not to demand monies for contracts,\u201dsaid the Mwelase Mining Director.<\/p>\n
