Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Inyatsi Construction, a company with alleged links to King Mswati has been awarded the multi-million Nsalitje-Siphambanweni road render.<\/b><\/p>\n

This was announced by the office of Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo through online platforms on Friday.<\/p>\n

\u201cMinister of Public Works and Transport Chief Ndlaluhlaza Ndwandwe has commissioned the construction of the Nsalitje-Siphambanweni road. The contract has been awarded to Inyatsi Construction and works on site are expected to commence on 8 August 2022. The project is expected to take 8 months.This is one of three road constructions the Minister has commissioned this week. The other two roads shall be constructed by Stefanutti Stocks Construction (Siteki-Maphungwane) and Roots Construction (Motshane-Sigangeni),\u201d reads the online statement.<\/p>\n

A questionnaire was sent to Michelo Shakantu, the Inyatsi Construction Director, however, he had not responded at the time of compiling this report.<\/p>\n

Reached for comments, Sibongile Mazibuko, the Chairperson of the Political Parties Assembly(PPA) said Inyatsi was being awarded tenders unfairly.<\/p>\n

\u201cInyatsi Construction is milking public resources and it is for these reasons we are fighting for democracy because we don\u2019t want few people to benefit from our resources,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Inyatsi Construction, a company with alleged links to King Mswati through Tibiyo TakaNgwane, is owned by Michello Shakantu, the husband of Justice Minister Pholile Shakantu.<\/p>\n

Michello Shakantu is accused of using Mswati\u2019s absolute power to grab tenders and private companies, more Swazis are being pushed out of business.<\/p>\n
