Africa-Press – Ethiopia. The memorial statue of the late Chief of Staff of the National Defense Force, General Seare Mekonnen, was inaugurated in Addis Ababa today.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Mayor of Addis Ababa City Administration, Adanech Abiebie, Minister of Defense, Abrham Belay and senior officials from the federal and the city administration.
The statue is built at Bole Rwanda Park, named after General Seare.
A street that links Rwanda area to Atlas Street was named General Seare Street in June, 2020.
Chief of Staff Seare Mekonnen was a man of principle and served his country with devotion and love.
