Africa-Press – Ethiopia. Ministry of Water and Energy signed memorandum of Understanding with USAID Ethiopia to enhance the effective implementation of ‘CR WASH Activity’, water supply and sanitation program to be implemented in the lowland areas of the country.
While signing the MoU Ambassador Asfaw Dingamo, State Minister for Water Supply and Sanitation, stated that the program will help communities in the lowland parts of the country to have access to safe and clean water.
Ambasador Asfaw added that the program is also instrumental in enhancing capacity to manage water supply schemes.
Chief of Party for USAID CR-WASH Activity, Mohhamed Abdinur said the program will to improve water and sanitation services, in particular, the lowland parts of Ethiopia.
He underscored that climate resilient WASH is an innovative program for areas that are prone to drought and other natural shocks.
Mohhamed added that improving non functionality and water resource mapping are critical components of the project.
