AFLEX Unveils Comprehensive Reform Program, Calls for Continued Support

Africa-Press – Ethiopia. African Leadership Excellence Academy (AFLEX) has called on countries and international institutions to strengthen their continued support to realize its comprehensive reform program which was unveiled today.

Praising the desire shown by partners to support the academy so far, AFLEX stressed the need for strengthening strategic partnerships with local and international institutions and countries.

Since its inception, AFLEX has successfully delivered 64,000 leadership programs covering a wide range of topics.

The Academy has also organized four national-level conferences on governance, innovation, entrepreneurship and social justice, as well as two forums on pan-Africanism that brought together 13 heads of State, African leaders, scholars, activists, and stakeholders, it was indicated.

In the past two years alone, AFLEX has trained 9,522 senior leaders and launched a women’s leadership development project to promote gender equality in leadership roles.

Presenting its comprehensive reform program and achievements and the need for strengthen partnerships with diplomatic community based in Addis Ababa, AFLEX President Zadig Abreha said AFLEX views collaboration as very important.

Accordingly, the academy has established strategic partnerships with various local and international institutions and stakeholders.

Envisioning to become flagship leadership development program, making AFLEX a thriving African institution, making Sululta a conference center like Davos, leadership award program, are among the major areas of the comprehensive reform program.

With regard to making AFLEX a thriving African Institution, the president noted that one of the strategic goals of AFLEX is to establish a new department that will focus on establishing various schools of studies aiming at equipping African current and emerging leaders with the necessary long-term studies and relatively short-term leadership development.

The short term programs includes the African leadership development programs while the long-term programs include leadership development programs that grant master’s degrees in various fields of studies that are relevant for Africa’s current and future development.

These fields of studies include African Leadership Programs, School of African Studies, African School of Public Affairs, School of Public Studies.

The president called on partners to invest in AFLEX which can have positive impacts on society, economy and environment.
