Africa-Press – Ethiopia. Tunisian President Kais Saied met with Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf in Tunis on Wednesday, where both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and cooperation.
During the meeting, Saied emphasized the importance of collaboration in key areas such as the development of border regions, boosting trade and investment, and addressing issues like smuggling and illegal migration.
He also highlighted the need for both countries to align their positions on regional and international matters, particularly in light of the current global challenges.
Attaf, visiting Tunisia as a special envoy of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, conveyed that his trip symbolized Algeria’s commitment to maintaining an ongoing dialogue with Tunisia, Xinhua reported.
“Today, Algerian-Tunisian relations are stronger than ever, supported by the dedication and close attention of both countries’ leaders,” Attaf remarked.
Noting that the African continent faces significant challenges in terms of security, politics, and economy, the minister said that “close coordination between Algeria and Tunisia is not only necessary but unavoidable” in this context.
