Africa-Press – Ethiopia. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed spent this Easter holiday with members of community who were relocated to Gelan Gura from Kasanchis in Addis Ababa, which has been undergoing redevelopment as part of the corridor development initiative.
The premier spent the holiday with this member of the community accompanied by First Lady Zinash Tayachew and Major of Addis Ababa Adanech Abiebie.
The government is transforming a once-neglected area for a better future, the Prime Minster said on social media post.
“We are transforming a once-neglected area—not for personal gain, but for the common good, for the joy of our children, and for a better future. Our only goal is to see a country transformed and free from poverty.”
He encouraged them to visit and see the place where they once lived.
“This is your new neighborhood, your new home. I encourage you to visit and see the place where you once lived. As promised, Kasanchis has been beautifully renewed. Our children now have hope—they can dream bigger and live better lives than we did,”
The resurrection of Ethiopia is near. We will witness it, and our children will inherit it, Abiy underlined.
