Africa-Press – Ethiopia. The Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), Mahmoud Ali Youssouf met with the UN Special Envoy for the Great Lakes Region, Huang Xia.
The two sides exchanged views on mediation efforts in Eastern DRC and the broader region.
On the occasion, they underscored the importance of ensuring regional and international peacemaking initiatives are coordinated and coherent.
The officials also reaffirmed their shared commitment to a robust AU-UN partnership in support of the region’s pursuit of peace, stability, and development, according to AU’s social media post.
