Africa-Press – Ethiopia. The Vice President of Uganda, Jessica Alupo has arrived in Addis Ababa this afternoon to participate at the second United Nations Food Systems Summit Stocktake +4 (UNFSS+4).
Delegations of various countries are arriving in Addis Ababa to participate at the second United Nations Food Systems Summit Stocktake +4 (UNFSS+4).
The 2nd United Nations Food Systems Summit Stocktake (UNFSS+4) will take place in Addis Ababa from July 27–29, 2025.
The summit will convene leaders from various nations, including heads of state, ministers, researchers, youth advocates, and representatives from civil society organizations worldwide.
Leaders, policy makers and other delegations of various countries have been arriving in Addis for the summit that is co-hosted by the governments of Ethiopia and Italy.
Accordingly, the Vice President of Uganda, Jessica Alupo has arrived in Addis Ababa this afternoon.
Upon arrival at the Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, the Vice President was warmly welcomed by the Vice President of Prosperity Party, Adem Farah, and State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Berhanu Tsegaye.
The objective of the summit is to evaluate the global advancements in transforming food systems and to create a cohesive strategy aimed at achieving sustainability, equity, and resilience.
Building on the momentum of the 2021 UN Food Systems Summit and the first Stocktake in 2023 (UNFSS+2), this event will reflect on global progress in food systems transformation, strengthen collaboration, and unlock finance and investments to accelerate action towards the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
