Africa-Press – Ethiopia. Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh has conveyed a congratulatory message for the 2025 Irreecha Thanksgiving Holiday.
In a message posted on his social media page, the Deputy Prime Minister described Irreecha as a day of thanks, emphasizing that it is primarily a festival where the Creator, who saturated the earth with rain, is praised with gratitude.
He elaborated that during this beautiful and hopeful time; the Oromo people emerge from the challenging period of the rainy season to gather in public spaces. There, they offer thanks to the Creator who ushered them into a new, abundant season of light.
The deputy prime minister further noted that Irreecha serves to close the past year and begin a new one.
He stressed that Irreecha is a vital Ethiopian value that helps build a culture of thanksgiving, strengthens multinational unity, and ensures that Ethiopia is for all, by all, and in all respects.
He concluded his message by wishing everyone a joyful holiday of gratitude and unity.
