Africa-Press – Ethiopia. Addis Ababa May 18/2021 (ENA) Finance Minister Ahmed Shide had discussion with the Director-General of the Treasury at the Ministry of Economy and Finance of France, Emmanuel Moulin on ways to enhance bilateral cooperation of the two countries.
According to Ministry of Finance, the two officials have also exchanged views on post COVID-19 economic recovery.
During the discussion, Moulin, who also chairs the Paris Club Secretariate briefed the Minister on the status of the Common Framework for Debt Treatment Beyond DSSI, which is designed to address fiscal constraints faced by many countries as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic.
Finance Minister Ahmed Shide on his part explained the importance of having timely and sustainable financing support for African economies to ensure the protection of socio-economic gains made in the past decade.
Both the Minister and the Director-General agreed to strengthen the collaboration between the two counties in several areas and in particular the need for creative financing solutions to continue the development aspirations of African countries.
