Africa-Press – Ethiopia. <\/strong><\/span>s Ababa February 6\/2022\/ENA \/Ethiopia and Russia have pledged to further bolster their cooperation in multilateral fora and protect their interests in ways that commensurate with their friendly relations.<\/p>\n

Demeke Mekonnen, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Ethiopia had a meeting with Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov.<\/p>\n

The meeting took place on Saturday on the margins of the 35th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union.<\/p>\n

During their discussion, the two sides deliberated ways to strengthen the longstanding relationship between Ethiopia and Russia with further engagements in various sectors, including agriculture, energy, and technology transfer.<\/p>\n

Discussing regional and global issues, the two sides pledged to continue cooperating in multilateral fora to protect their interests in ways that commensurate with their friendly relations.<\/p>\n

They further underlined the need to resolve conflicts in Africa through political and diplomatic means in line with the fundamental principles of international law.<\/p>\n

The discussion between the two sides also included issues related to the second Russia-Africa Summit, according to ministry of Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n
