Africa-Press – Ethiopia. <\/strong><\/span>AC Milan striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has claimed he was overlooked for Ballon d\u2019Or recognition down the years because he does not fit the \u201cMr Perfect\u201d mould that the organizers look for in Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.<\/p>\n

Messi and Ronaldo have won the awards 12 times between them.<\/p>\n

The duopoly was only broken by Real Madrid midfielder, Luka Modric, in 2018.<\/p>\n

Ibrahimovic has scored over 500 club goals and is still playing at 40.<\/p>\n

The Swede would have expected all that to put him in contention for a prestigious individual prize at some stage, but he considers himself to be too outspoken.<\/p>\n

Ibrahimovic told Bild: \u201cThese are political awards. They want \u2018Mr Perfect\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you speak and say what you think you can\u2019t get them.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s easy to give them to Mr Nice Guy. It doesn\u2019t change anything for me, it doesn\u2019t make me better or worse.\u201d<\/p>\n

His best finish came in 2013 when he claimed fourth place.<\/p>\n
