Africa-Press – Ethiopia. <\/strong><\/span>Tottenham Hotspur manager, Antonio Conte has said that Romelu Lukaku did not shine on his return to Chelsea, because he did not feel the fans\u2019 love.<\/p>\n

However, the Italian insists Lukaku can still succeed in the Premier League.<\/p>\n

Conte takes his Spurs side to Stamford Bridge on Sunday, but will not be facing the Belgian striker.<\/p>\n

Harry Kane will lead the attack for the visitors, but Thomas Tuchel could start with a false nine for the Blues.<\/p>\n

The signing of Lukaku for \u00a397m last summer was expected to solve Chelsea\u2019s problems in attack, but the Belgian struggled and has returned to Inter Milan on loan.<\/p>\n

It was under Conte\u2019s management at Inter that Lukakau showed himself to be among the best.<\/p>\n

Both men won the Serie A title in 2021 and Conte believes the 29-year-old can still flourish in England.<\/p>\n

Conte said: \u201cI think Romelu lived two years in Milan and he was the king. The fans showed him a lot of passion and I think he\u2019s a guy who needs this.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor this reason, I think he wanted to come back to Milan, but for sure the signing was a good signing for Chelsea. Then you know very well there are players that need more time to make an impact.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of things can happen and drop the confidence. I know for sure he is a bit disappointed with his impact because he wanted to have another impact in England.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut he has time. Now it\u2019s right for him to play for an important club in Italy, to try to get confidence again in himself, but we are talking about a really important and really good striker.\u201d<\/p>\n
