Africa-Press – Ethiopia. <\/strong><\/span>Japan Ambassador to Ethiopia, Ito Takako, said that her country would continue its assistance for grassroots human security projects in Ethiopia.<\/p>\n

About 8.7 million Birr grant agreement was signed today for expanding a primary school and a senior secondary school in Somali and Sidama regions respectively today.<\/p>\n

The agreement was inked by Ambassador Takako, Executive Director of OWS Development Fund Professor Mohammed Abdi, and Arbegona Woreda Education Office Head Beyene Belayneh.<\/p>\n

During the signing ceremony, Ambassador Takako said the two projects are funded through Japan\u2019s Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects which cultivates a direct working relationship between the grass-roots level of society and the Japanese Embassy in Addis Ababa.<\/p>\n

She further expressed her hope that the projects will further deepen the friendship between the people of japan and the people of Ethiopia.<\/p>\n

OWS Development Fund Executive Director, Professor Mohammed Abdi said on his part that the Japanese government has been among the forefront donors of lots of project in Somali region.<\/p>\n

Arbegona Woreda Education Office Head, Beyene Belayneh also noted that the Government of Japan has been extending various supports to his woreda, especially in the education and health sectors.<\/p>\n

According to the Embassy of Japan in Ethiopia, the country has implemented over 400 projects across Ethiopia since the Grass-Roots Human Security Projects (GGP) was introduced in 1989.<\/p>\n
