Africa-Press – Ethiopia. <\/strong><\/span>Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, along with First Lady Zinash Tayachew, and a high level federal and regional delegation launched the Green Legacy initiative of the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples’ Region (SNNPR) in Gedeo Zone today.<\/p>\n

Marking the occasion, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed appreciated the people of Gedeo for preserving a green environment and reiterated the importance of preserving their peace as well.<\/p>\n

Recall Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed launched the second phase of Green Legacy Initiative in Afar region, under the theme \u201cLet\u2019s plant our future today\u201d last month.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister confirmed that the first phase of the Green Legacy Initiative was successful in which Ethiopia managed to plant 25 billion seedlings.<\/p>\n

He disclosed that the country has set sights to plant another 25 billion seedlings in the second phase of the Green Legacy Initiative.<\/p>\n
