Africa-Press – Ethiopia. <\/strong><\/span>President Sahle-Work Zewde said the Government of Ethiopia will expend more effort to boost the leadership capacity of women.<\/p>\n

The Office of the President is providing training for female members of the House People’s Representatives on capacity building and enhancing leadership, in collaboration with the House of People’s Representatives and UN Women.<\/p>\n

Addressing the opening session, President Sahle-Work Zewde noted that women are a great power in ensuring peace and development.<\/p>\n

However, they have been denied the opportunity to make decision utilizing their understanding capacity, patience, and caring nature she added.<\/p>\n

Noting that women are backbone of the family and have the capacity to foresee and understand problem, the president stated that female members of the House have to meet their responsibilities by prioritizing the interests of the people and the nation.<\/p>\n

Sahle-Work added that even if the government has been boosting the role of women in leadership such efforts need to be further strengthened.<\/p>\n
