Africa-Press – Ethiopia. <\/strong><\/span>Central Ethiopia region is working hard to attract investments in the agriculture sector, Chief Administrator Endeshaw Tasew said.<\/p>\n

A delegation of Central Ethiopia region led by Chief Administrator, Endeshaw Tasew and Belayneh Kinde Investment Group, CEO, Belayneh Kinde today visited oilseeds cultivation around Gibe River in Enor Wereda of the Guragea Zone.<\/p>\n

Belayneh Kinde Investment Group was granted 5,000 hectares of land last December, of which the company has cultivated on 1000 hectares of land with oilseeds, creating jobs for 400 individuals, it was indicated.<\/p>\n

The chief administrator said that the region is working hard to attract investments especially in the agriculture sector.<\/p>\n

The region has immense agricultural potential and is striving to create favorable conditions for investments, he said.<\/p>\n

Endeshaw also said that the investment by Belayneh Kinde Group is an indication that the region has favorable investment opportunities for the private sector to invest in the region.<\/p>\n

The investment group has cultivated oilseeds in less than a year on 1000 hectares land, including soya bean, sunflower and sesame.<\/p>\n

The area is so fertile for agriculture, he said and called on investors to invest in the sector.<\/p>\n

Agriculture Bureau Head of the region, Usman Surur on his part said the regional government is committed to creating favorable investment climate for investors in agriculture.<\/p>\n

We are working hard to tap the immense potential in the sector by attracting domestic and foreign investors, he stated.<\/p>\n

Belayneh Kinde, CEO of the Investment Group said the investment group will continue expanding its cultivation to meet market needs for edible oil industries and create job opportunities in the coming years, he added.<\/p>\n

The group has similar investments in six regions of Ethiopia and has created thousands of job opportunities, it was learnt.<\/p>\n
