Africa-Press – Ethiopia. <\/strong><\/span>The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Embassy in Ethiopia celebrated the country’s 52nd National Day yesterday evening in Addis Ababa.<\/p>\n

UAE\u2019s National Day is celebrated yearly to commemorate the formation of the United Arab Emirates, it was learned.<\/p>\n

The celebration has brought together Ethiopian citizens, the diplomatic community, and Emirati counterparts, among others.<\/p>\n

The atmosphere was filled with cultural showcases, including traditional cuisines, cultural performances, and delightful culinary as well as historical experiences for the guests.<\/p>\n

The United Arab Emirates Ambassador to Ethiopia, Mohammed Salem Al Rashidi, emphasized the strong cooperation between the UAE and Ethiopia, spanning various fields.<\/p>\n

The ambassador pointed to the visit of the UAE President, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to Ethiopia as a testament to the flourishing bilateral relations between the two countries.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring which, the two countries signed a great number of agreements and Memoranda of Understanding in different sectors.\u201d<\/p>\n

Middle East, Asia, and Pacific Region Director General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Gebeyehu Ganga, echoed the sentiment, expressing the Ethiopian government’s and people’s admiration for the UAE’s remarkable achievements.<\/p>\n

The director general reaffirmed his commitment to further strengthening Ethiopian-Emirati relations.<\/p>\n

\u201cI stand before you with deep admiration and appreciation for the UAE\u2019s remarkable achievements and the strong bond between our nations.\u201d<\/p>\n

The diplomatic relations between the countries date back to 1973, Gebeyehu recalled, adding that ever since then, the political, economic, and people-to-people ties have been getting stronger.<\/p>\n

The upcoming eighth edition of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP 28), to be hosted by the UAE, was acknowledged as a significant step towards addressing climate change.<\/p>\n

Ethiopia will fully participate in the conference and will work with the UAE on the issues of climate change in the global arena, Gebeyehu stated.<\/p>\n

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to working together to achieve their shared goals.<\/p>\n

The celebration of the UAE’s 52nd National Day in Addis Ababa served as a reminder of the enduring friendship and mutual respect between Ethiopia and the UAE.<\/p>\n
