Africa-Press – Ethiopia. <\/strong><\/span>_The government of Ethiopia is committed to further strengthening its relation with European Union (EU) and its member countries, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Demeke Mekonnen said.<\/p>\n

While convening dialogue with ambassadors of EU member countries today, Demeke said our cooperation is strategic, as Ethiopia and member states of the EU have enjoyed historic relations.<\/p>\n

These relations have been strengthened in structured manner, he said.<\/p>\n

He added that the EU and its member states have a major role to play through technical expertise and advice as well as in supporting the reconstruction and rehabilitation of societies affected by natural disasters as well as conflict.<\/p>\n

EU Ambassador to Ethiopia Roland Kobia on his part said EU is a real partner of Ethiopia when it comes to peace.<\/p>\n

Without peace and security, there is no development, trade and tourism, Ambassador Kobia said adding that “we are ready to support Ethiopia on the way to peace and stability.<\/p>\n

He added that EU and its member states will be in a better position to help Ethiopia efficiently and in a sustainable manner.<\/p>\n
