Africa-Press – Ethiopia. <\/strong><\/span>The Ethiopian-Arab relations has a role in promoting peace and stability as well as achieving cooperation and integration between Arab countries and Ethiopia.<\/p>\n

In an exclusive interview with the Ethiopian News Agency, Chairman of West Asian Countries Parliamentary Friendship Committee Mohammed Al-Arusi said that Ethiopia has been striving to consolidate relations with Arab countries.<\/p>\n

According to him, relations between Ethiopia and the Arab countries are represented in several areas, including scholarships for Ethiopian students to continue their studies in Arab universities such as the UAE and other Arab universities.<\/p>\n

The relationship is rooted in common culture and history and this makes the Ethiopian presence in the conscience of the Arab world, he added.<\/p>\n

The MP pointed out that the relations are of great importance, especially since the country is characterized by multiple cultures that have become important for both sides in economic, social and diplomatic aspects.<\/p>\n

Regarding visits to Arab countries, Mohammed said that visits have been increasing from time to time and this is evidence of the desire to strengthen relations with Ethiopia.<\/p>\n

He cited as an example the visit of the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed as well as officials from Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries.<\/p>\n

These indicate the deepening of relations and the desire to build bridges of communication and cooperation which opens way for development, stability and integration in the region, the chairman elaborated.<\/p>\n

The chairman finally stressed that the media must play the role of strengthening relations that would enhance diplomacy to achieve mutual development of the Arab and Ethiopian peoples.<\/p>\n
