Africa-Press – Ethiopia. <\/strong><\/span>Ethiopia and Angola reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral and multilateral ties and to enhancing African leadership on the global stage.<\/p>\n

Ethiopian President Taye Atske Selassie confers with his the President of Angola and the current chairperson of the African Union on the sidelines of the U.S.-Africa Business Summit in Luanda, Angola.<\/p>\n

The two leaders discussed areas in which they could further expand and strengthen their bilateral and multilateral relations, said Zerihun Abebe, director general of African Affairs at the Ministry of Ethiopian Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n

Both leaders emphasized the importance of strengthening ties through institutional structures and agreed to invigorate the previously established joint ministerial committee immediately, he elaborated.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Zerihun underscored that the two sides agreed to direct their ministers to swiftly operationalize the committee.<\/p>\n

According to Ambassador Zerihun, they also discussed ways to improve Africa\u2019s role on the international stage, particularly with regard to UN Security Council reform.<\/p>\n

They affirmed commitment to working together to advance Africa’s role in finding lasting solutions to current global issues.<\/p>\n

Finally, President Taye expressed his appreciation to the Angolan government for its warm welcome of the Ethiopian delegation, ENA learned.<\/p>\n
