Africa-Press<\/a> – Ethiopia<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Addis Ababa, March 30\/2021(ENA) Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said every citizen should take responsibility in making the 6th General Election peaceful besides the government.<\/p>\n

He made the remark at a discussion held under the theme of \u201cPeace and Security during Election\u201d held at the Office of the Prime Minister.<\/p>\n

The premier pointed out that foreign forces that do not want to see the existence of Ethiopia and renegades will attempt to create problems using the election as opportunity.<\/p>\n

Therefore, the community should expose forces that exert efforts to disrupt peaceful conduct of the election by hiding amidst the people.<\/p>\n

Every citizen should also take responsibility for the election to be completed peacefully and democratically.<\/p>\n

If Prosperity Party (PP) loses the election, it is ready to hand over power peacefully to the winning party, Abiy pledged.<\/p>\n

Today\u2019s edition of Addis Weg chose the theme \u201cPeace and Security during Elections\u201d for being timely. \u2018Addis Weg\u2019 covered variety of themes in three sessions, the Office of the Prime Minister said.<\/p>\n

The first session focused on the characteristics and criteria of peaceful elections and the second session will focus on the role of indigenous and modern institutions in promoting peace during an electoral period.<\/p>\n

The final of the three-part Addis Weg will be held on the morning of Wednesday March 31st focusing on preventing the negative effects of disinformation towards enabling peaceful elections.<\/p>\n

All three sessions will be broadcast by the media tonight, Wednesday and Thursday nights, it was learned.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
