Ethiopia has become \u201can ideal investment destination\u201d for Qatari investors owing to its huge untapped investment potentials and attractive incentives, ambassador Samia Zekaria said during the recently-held virtual \u2018Ethiopian Business Workshop\u2019.<\/p>\n
Bilateral relations \u201chave become more promising and growing to an unprecedented level,\u201d said Zekaria during the event, which was hosted by the Ethiopian embassy in Qatar, in collaboration its strategic partner, KON.<\/p>\n
The ambassador reiterated that Qatari investors have shown \u201can increasing interest\u201d to invest in Ethiopia, whose high-quality and fresh agricultural products \u201care making their way to the Qatari market.\u201d<\/p>\n
She said the workshop aims to encourage Qatari businessmen and women to invest in Ethiopia, import Ethiopian products, visit various Ethiopian tourist attractions, and enjoy the country\u2019s \u201cmagnificent weather,\u201d natural sceneries, and cultural diversities.<\/p>\n
In a presentation on Ethiopia\u2019s investment potential, Fairfax Africa Fund global chairman Zemedeneh Nigatu said infrastructure, transport, manufacturing, mining, and tourism are the vital sectors in which Qatari businessmen and women should invest in.<\/p>\n
Zemedeneh said Ethiopia\u2019s transport sector is \u201cthe most worthwhile investment sector\u201d having a \u201c$74bn investment opportunity in the coming 10 years.\u201d He said Ethiopia\u2019s proximity to the Middle East region, the country\u2019s fast-growing economy, and the availability of a productive workforce \u201cmake an ideal basis for a strong Ethio-Qatar economic relation.\u201d<\/p>\n
Officials and experts from various Ethiopian ministries and agencies have also underscored the ample business opportunities in their respective sectors during the online event.<\/p>\n
KON Group chairman Mohamed Riad Massani and KON Group co-founder and chairperson Hissa Khalil al-Suwaidi shed light on the opportunities provided by the workshop in terms of strengthening the business ties of the two countries.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
