Africa-Press – Ethiopia. <\/strong><\/span>Minister of Women and Social Affairs Ergogie Tesfaye affirmed that women\u2019s participation will be further reinforced to ensure the nation\u2019s reform efforts yield greater results.<\/p>\n

The Ethiopian Senior Women Leaders Forum is currently convening in Addis Ababa.<\/p>\n

The forum was attended by the Vice President of Ethiopia\u2019s ruling Prosperity Party (PP) and Head of the Democratic System Building Center at the rank of Deputy Prime Minister, Adem Farah, alongside senior government officials, ambassadors, and representatives from various women\u2019s organizations.<\/p>\n

In her remarks at the forum, Women and Social Affairs Minister Ergogie Tesfaye highlighted the active role women have played throughout the country\u2019s far-reaching years of reform.<\/p>\n

She also praised Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed\u2019s leadership for its tangible commitment to advancing women\u2019s political participation by opening doors for many women to assume senior government roles.<\/p>\n

The achievements registered over the years are testaments that women have made significant contributions for overall improvements of the society and the national development of the county, the minister added.<\/p>\n

Accordingly, at the forum, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has been given special recognition for his significant contributions to promoting women\u2019s participation in decision-making during the forum.<\/p>\n

Since 2018, under Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed\u2019s leadership, Ethiopia has launched an ambitious reform agenda.<\/p>\n

This far-reaching refom has included the formation of a cabinet with a significant number of women ministers and key government officials.<\/p>\n

Ergogie also stated that work is being done to further increase the participation of women in multifaceted areas as outlined by the goals of the Ten-Year Development Plan.<\/p>\n

She urged women to diligently work to further enhance their contribution to the overall prosperity of Ethiopia.<\/p>\n

The forum organized by the Ministry of Women and Social Affairs and panel discussions would be held on various topics under the theme “Women Leaders for Ethiopia’s Prosperity,” it was learned.<\/p>\n
