Maternal mortality declined from 871 per 100,000 live births in 2000 to 195 in the latest data.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, neonatal mortality declined from 39 per 1,000 live births in 2000 to 26 in 2022. These numbers are not mere statistics; they represent lives saved, families strengthened, and a more secure future.<\/p>\n<p>They are the result of sustained government commitment, investment in healthcare infrastructure, expanded access to essential services, and the development of a skilled workforce dedicated to quality care at both the community and facility levels.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that at the heart of this progress lies a strong primary health care system.
