Africa-Press – Ethiopia. <\/strong><\/span>Senior African diplomats have commended Ethiopia\u2019s steadfast commitment to advancing continental unity and its accelerating development trajectory.<\/p>\n

Describing the nation\u2019s progress as a blueprint for Africa\u2019s transformation, the envoys highlighted Ethiopia’s dual success in fostering regional integration while maintaining domestic growth.<\/p>\n

Olivier Jean-Patrick Nduhungirehe, Rwanda\u2019s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Mahlaba Mamba, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Eswatini to Ethiopia, the African Union and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, praised the country\u2019s firm commitment to Pan-Africanism.<\/p>\n

The envoys highlighted corridor development, expansion of energy supply and the growth of digital systems as clear signs of a determined national agenda focused on long term prosperity.<\/p>\n

They described Ethiopia\u2019s experience as a practical reference point for African nations seeking inclusive and sustainable growth.<\/p>\n

Underscoring the strategic importance of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), they described it a flagship initiative with the capacity to stimulate economic expansion, enhance regional energy connectivity and support Africa\u2019s shared development vision.<\/p>\n

Olivier Jean Patrick emphasized Ethiopia\u2019s historic and continuing commitment to African unity, added that the country played a central role in the founding of the Organization of African Unity in 1963, an effort strongly championed by Emperor Haile Selassie.<\/p>\n

Ethiopia\u2019s legacy continues to strengthen confidence in its continental leadership, he added.<\/p>\n

According to him, Ethiopia is recording steady gains in renewable energy, digital transformation, corridor development and environmental protection, particularly through the Green Legacy Initiative.<\/p>\n

The minister further stressed the need for deeper collaboration among African states, especially Nile Basin countries, to ensure fair and cooperative use of shared water resources.<\/p>\n

Rwanda has signed and ratified the Comprehensive Framework Agreement on Nile waters and called for sustained dialogue to reinforce unity and unlock economic potential across the region, he noted.<\/p>\n

On his part, Ambassador Mahlaba Mamba described Ethiopia\u2019s infrastructure expansion as unprecedented, stating that the country is positioning itself as a potential \u201cDubai of Africa\u201d and an emerging development benchmark on the continent.<\/p>\n

He further elaborated that the Kingdom of Eswatini is keen to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Ethiopia and draw lessons from its development experience.<\/p>\n

Referring to the theme of this year\u2019s African Union Summit, which centers on water availability and sanitation, the ambassador stressed the importance of advancing initiatives that improve water resource management.<\/p>\n

In this context, he commended Ethiopia\u2019s water conservation measures, including its large-scale tree planting programs, as well as its use of hydropower from the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam to expand clean energy generation and promote regional integration.<\/p>\n
