Africa-Press. <\/strong> <\/span>La Banque centrale ougandaise a annonce\u0301 que les exportations d\u2019or ont augmente\u0301 l\u2019anne\u0301e dernie\u0300re de 75,8 % par rapport a\u0300 l\u2019anne\u0301e pre\u0301ce\u0301dente, stimule\u0301es par la hausse des prix mondiaux, attirant de nouveaux investisseurs et commerc\u0327ants dans le secteur.<\/p>\n

Adam Mugomi, directeur exe\u0301cutif de la Direction de la recherche et de l\u2019analyse e\u0301conomique a\u0300 la Banque, a pre\u0301cise\u0301 que la valeur des exportations d\u2019or avait atteint 5,8 milliards de dollars en 2025, contre 3,3 milliards en 2024, soulignant que cette hausse est en partie due aux prix record du me\u0301tal pre\u0301cieux sur le marche\u0301 mondial.<\/p>\n

Avec cette performance, l\u2019or a de\u0301passe\u0301 le cafe\u0301 pour devenir la principale exportation ougandaise et la premie\u0300re source de devises e\u0301trange\u0300res, marquant un changement notable dans la structure e\u0301conomique du pays, qui de\u0301pendait du cafe\u0301 depuis des de\u0301cennies.<\/p>\n

Bien que l\u2019Ouganda produise des quantite\u0301s limite\u0301es d\u2019or, le pays est devenu ces dernie\u0300res anne\u0301es un centre re\u0301gional de traitement et de commerce de l\u2019or provenant des pays voisins, notamment de l\u2019est de la Re\u0301publique de\u0301mocratique du Congo et du Sud-Soudan.<\/p>\n

Dans un signe d\u2019inte\u0301re\u0302t croissant pour le secteur, l\u2019Ouganda a inaugure\u0301 l\u2019anne\u0301e dernie\u0300re sa premie\u0300re mine d\u2019or a\u0300 grande e\u0301chelle dans l\u2019est du pays, avec un investissement chinois d\u2019environ 250 millions de dollars, ce qui pourrait renforcer la production locale a\u0300 l\u2019avenir.<\/p>\n

Les prix mondiaux de l\u2019or ont bondi de plus de 64 % en 2025, dans un contexte de tensions ge\u0301opolitiques accrues, augmentant la demande pour ce me\u0301tal conside\u0301re\u0301 comme un refuge su\u0302r. Selon le responsable ougandais, les prix attractifs ont encourage\u0301 l\u2019entre\u0301e de nouveaux acteurs sur le marche\u0301, contribuant a\u0300 l\u2019augmentation des exportations, sans toutefois pre\u0301ciser les volumes exacts.<\/p>\n
