Africa-Press – Gabon. <\/strong><\/span>La proble\u0301matique de \u00abl\u2019e\u0301le\u0301vation du niveau de la mer et ses incidences\u00bb demeure une pre\u0301occupation pour la pre\u0301sidente du Se\u0301nat qui a profite\u0301 de la rentre\u0301e parlementaire, le 3 octobre, pour interpeller le gouvernement sur les impacts de cette situation sur la population vivant en bordure de mer (dans la zone littorale).<\/p>\n

Bien que classe\u0301 parmi les pays moyennement vulne\u0301rables aux effets du changement climatique, selon les indices de re\u0301fe\u0301rence mondiale des risques climatiques, le Gabon n\u2019est pas e\u0301pargne\u0301 par la proble\u0301matique de \u00abl\u2019e\u0301le\u0301vation du niveau de la mer et ses incidences\u00bb. D\u2019apre\u0300s le coordonnateur du Plan national d\u2019adaptation, Magloire-De\u0301sire\u0301 Mounganga, le littoral gabonais ou\u0300 re\u0301side une partie de la population nationale est, de plus en plus, menace\u0301 par les changements climatiques.<\/p>\n

Un avis ou une observation, tre\u0300s pre\u0301occupant pour Lucie Milebou Aubusson e\u0301pouse Mboussou, qui n\u2019a pas manque\u0301 de tirer la sonnette d\u2019alarme sur la forte exposition du Gabon a\u0300 une e\u0301le\u0301vation du niveau de la mer et a\u0300 une e\u0301rosion co\u0302tie\u0300re conside\u0301rable. \u00abLes changements climatiques sont les de\u0301fis majeurs qui se posent au de\u0301veloppement de l\u2019Afrique, qui est aujourd\u2019hui le continent e\u0301mettant le moins de gaz a\u0300 effet de serre dans le monde et qui paye le plus lourd tribut. Ne\u0301anmoins, notre pays est de\u0301ja\u0300 fortement expose\u0301 a\u0300 une e\u0301le\u0301vation du niveau de la mer et a\u0300 une e\u0301rosion co\u0302tie\u0300re conside\u0301rable\u00bb.<\/p>\n

En effet, les principaux ale\u0301as identifie\u0301s sur les co\u0302tes gabonaises sont l\u2019amplification du phe\u0301nome\u0300ne d\u2019e\u0301rosion co\u0302tie\u0300re ; l\u2019augmentation de la fre\u0301quence des inondations lie\u0301es aux eaux pluviales ; l\u2019e\u0301le\u0301vation du niveau de la mer avec pour effets la submersion marine (inondations provoque\u0301es par l\u2019invasion des eaux marines sur les terres basses) ; les e\u0301ve\u0301nements extre\u0302mes lie\u0301s aux tornades et tempe\u0302tes tropicales.<\/p>\n

Les risques lie\u0301s a\u0300 ce phe\u0301nome\u0300ne, du\u0302 a\u0300 la fonte des glaciers et a\u0300 la dilatation thermique des oce\u0301ans, constituent aujourd\u2019hui une pre\u0301occupation majeure pour la communaute\u0301 internationale et plus particulie\u0300rement pour les pays en voie de de\u0301veloppement dont la majeure partie de la population vit en bordure de mer (dans la zone littorale), a\u0300 l\u2019exemple du Gabon, soumis de\u0301sormais aux risques d\u2019inondations tre\u0300s e\u0301leve\u0301s. Plus ou moins violents, ces e\u0301ve\u0301nements naturels sont toujours susceptibles d\u2019e\u0302tre dangereux aux plans humain, e\u0301conomique ou environnemental.<\/p>\n
