Africa-Press – Gabon. <\/strong><\/span>Le Centre national de sant\u00e9 mentale (CNSM) a initi\u00e9 du 13 au 15 mai, la premi\u00e8re phase de l\u2019op\u00e9ration \u00ab Z\u00e9ro malades mentaux \u00bb dans les rues de Libreville, Owendo et Akanda. L\u2019op\u00e9ration visait essentiellement \u00e0 porter secours et offrir des soins de qualit\u00e9 aux personnes souffrant de troubles mentaux et d\u00e9ambulant dans les rues des communes cibl\u00e9es.<\/b><\/p>\n

Ec\u0153ur\u00e9 par le ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne des malades mentaux errant dans les rues des principales villes du pays, le minist\u00e8re de la Sant\u00e9 a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 d\u2019agir. A travers Le Centre national de sant\u00e9 mentale (CNSM), l\u2019administration de Guy Patrick Obiang a initi\u00e9 du 13 au 15 mai, la premi\u00e8re phase de l\u2019op\u00e9ration \u00ab Z\u00e9ro malades mentaux \u00bb dans les rues de Libreville, Owendo et Akanda. Celle-ci vise \u00e0 porter secours et donner des soins de qualit\u00e9 aux personnes souffrant de troubles mentaux.<\/p>\n

\u00abNous l\u2019avons lanc\u00e9 parce que nous avons pour objectif z\u00e9ro malades mentaux dans la rue et pour atteindre ces objectifs nous devons diminuer le nombre de malades mentaux qui errent dans nos rues, mais \u00e9galement parce que certains de ces malades mentaux sont agressifs. Du fait de cette agressivit\u00e9 et pour prot\u00e9ger les populations, le CNMS qui est le seul centre de prise en charge des malades mentaux au Gabon, ne peut que se retourner vers la rue pour pouvoir ramener ces malades l\u00e0 pour une prise en charge ad\u00e9quate\u00bb, a expliqu\u00e9 le Dr Re\u00efne Dope Koumou, le 15 mai sur Gabon 1\u00e8re.<\/p>\n

Trois jours durant, les \u00e9quipes du CNMS ont sillonn\u00e9 les trois communes afin de trouver le maximum de malades mentaux et les prendre en charge. \u00abPour l\u2019instant nous avons choisi les grandes art\u00e8res de la ville donc la ville d\u2019Akanda, la ville de Libreville et celle d\u2019Owendo. Et ces axes ont \u00e9t\u00e9 choisi \u00e9galement par rapport aux diff\u00e9rents signalements que nous avons re\u00e7u sur notre num\u00e9ro d\u2019appel gratuit le 1324 qui ont eu au pr\u00e9alable \u00e0 localiser les malades \u00e0 certains endroits. Le seul probl\u00e8me que nous avons souvent lorsque ces signalements sont faits, c\u2019est juste dire que ces malades sont mobiles donc lorsque l\u2019\u00e9quipe se d\u00e9place sur le terrain, nous ne savons pas comment retrouver le malade\u00bb, a-t-elle affirm\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Vivement le lancement deux la deuxi\u00e8me phase qui devrait \u00e9galement toucher l\u2019int\u00e9rieur du pays. Toutefois, une question se pose avec acuit\u00e9 : l\u2019internement des malades mentaux \u00e0 l\u2019h\u00f4pital psychiatrique de Melen, confront\u00e9 \u00e0 plusieurs maux dont la capacit\u00e9 liti\u00e8re insuffisante, l\u2019absence de m\u00e9dicaments et la carence en personnel.<\/p>\n
