Africa-Press – Gabon. <\/strong><\/span>En marge de la Semaine africaine du climat 2022, le Bureau r\u00e9gional des Nations Unies pour l\u2019Afrique centrale (Unoca) et d\u2019autres organisations internationales ont initi\u00e9 un \u00e9v\u00e9nement parall\u00e8le articul\u00e9 autour des r\u00f4les de la for\u00eat tropicale du Bassin du Congo, des r\u00e9serves de biosph\u00e8re, et des sites du patrimoine mondial dans la r\u00e9silience au changement climatique et la mise en \u0153uvre des Objectifs de d\u00e9veloppement durable (ODD) en Afrique centrale. <\/b><\/p>\n

Lors de cet \u00e9v\u00e9nement, le 1er septembre dernier, le Bureau r\u00e9gional des Nations Unies pour l\u2019Afrique centrale (Unoca) a soulign\u00e9 le lien entre le changement climatique, la paix et la s\u00e9curit\u00e9, et l\u2019importance cruciale de la mobilisation des financements climatiques durables et inclusives pour l\u2019Afrique centrale. La for\u00eat tropicale du bassin du Congo est identifi\u00e9e comme l\u2019une des zones cl\u00e9s o\u00f9 l\u2019impact du changement climatique aggrave la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 humaine, nationale et r\u00e9gionale. Pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e comme l\u2019un des principaux moyens de subsistance de 80 millions de personnes, elle est un atout mondial pour l\u2019action climatique, la pr\u00e9vention des conflits et la consolidation de la paix.<\/p>\n

Soulignant \u00abl\u2019importance cruciale de la mobilisation d\u2019un financement climatique durable et inclusif pour la sous-r\u00e9gion<\/b>\u00bb, les experts de l\u2019Unoca ont fait savoir que \u00ables actions climatiques doivent \u00eatre con\u00e7ues de mani\u00e8re inclusive, en int\u00e9grant les aspects de paix et de s\u00e9curit\u00e9<\/b>\u00bb. Dans ce contexte, l\u2019Unoca a recommand\u00e9 que l\u2019Afrique centrale se repositionne comme un partenaire essentiel dans la lutte mondiale contre le changement climatique, notamment pour la mobilisation de partenariats internationaux efficaces et le financement climatique.<\/p>\n

L\u2019organisation onusienne a pour sa part encourag\u00e9 les acteurs r\u00e9gionaux tels que la Communaut\u00e9 \u00e9conomique des \u00c9tats de l\u2019Afrique centrale (CEEAC) \u00e0 assumer un leadership fort et \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper une vision r\u00e9gionale pour l\u2019action climatique et \u00e0 catalyser les riches ressources de la sous-r\u00e9gion pour un engagement efficace. \u00abAvec notre large coalition de partenaires, je sais que nous, l\u2019\u00e9quipe des Nations Unies au Gabon, pouvons d\u00e9velopper nos succ\u00e8s actuels, \u00e9lever nos ambitions communes en mati\u00e8re de climat et devenir un mod\u00e8le inspirant pour une transition verte durable dans le monde entier<\/b>\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 la Coordinatrice r\u00e9sidente des Nations Unies au Gabon, Savina Ammassari.<\/p>\n

L\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nement \u00e9tait conjointement organis\u00e9 avec l\u2019Organisation des Nations Unies pour l\u2019\u00e9ducation, la science et la culture (Unesco), la Banque africaine de d\u00e9veloppement (BAD), l\u2019Office des Nations Unies contre la drogue et le crime (ONUDC). La Semaine africaine du Climat, du 29 ao\u00fbt au septembre, a voulu planter le d\u00e9cor d\u2019une action r\u00e9gionale plus ambitieuse pour lutter contre les changements climatiques avant la Conf\u00e9rence des Nations Unies sur le changement climatique (COP 27) qui se tiendra en novembre prochain en \u00c9gypte.<\/p>\n
