Africa-Press – Gambia. The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) announced that Abdoulie Jallow, the opposition Gambia Democratic Congress’s (GDC) candidate for North Bank Region, has withdrawn his candidacy for the Chairmanship election.
“The Independent Electoral Commission wishes to inform the general public that Abdoulie Jallow has withdrawn his candidature on 13 May 2023: from the Chairmanship Elections of 20′′h May 2023. The Returning Officer for Kerewan Administrative Area, Haddy Sedat Jobe George has duly accepted the withdrawal of Abdoulie Jallow: GDC Candidate in the Kerewan Administrative Area,” IEC said.
