Africa-Press – Gambia. The national men’s volleyball team continued their quest for a podium place at the African Games in Accra with a 3-0 win over Gambia on Sunday.
Wafalme were in imperious form, winning the first set 25-18 before excelling 25-21.
The third one was more closely contested but the Kenyans’ experience and skills eventually prevailed as they won 28-26 to claim their third triumph at the games.
Wafalme — making a comeback to the African Games after missing out on the last edition in 2019 in Rabat — have been peerless in Group A.
They began their campaign on Thursday with a straight sets win over Chad before dismissing the hosts on Friday — winning 25-21, 25-21 and 25-14 for a straight sets victory.
Their female counterparts, Malkia Strikers, have been equally destructive in Group B by winning their matches thus far against Seychelles and Nigeria.
Both teams are yet to drop a set in the competition.
