National Assembly Declares August Recess for Members

Africa-Press – Gambia. The Office of the Clerk of the National Assembly has officially announced that all honorable members of parliament will observe a recess from Friday, 1st August, to Sunday, 31st August 2025.

According to the statement, all National Assembly activities, including plenary and committee sessions, will be suspended during this period to allow members to take their annual leave. Normal parliamentary business is scheduled to resume on Monday, 1st September 2025.

“The Office of the Clerk of the National Assembly wishes to announce for the information of the public that honorable members of the National Assembly will proceed on ‘recess,’ effective Friday, 01st to Sunday, 31st August 2025,” the statement said.

It further emphasized that all ministries, departments, agencies, partners, and members of the public are hereby notified of the month-long suspension of National Assembly business during this time.

“All ministries, departments, agencies, partners, and the general public are hereby informed that the National Assembly will be on a month-long recess, effective Friday, 01st August 2025, and normal business resumes from Monday, 01st September 2025,” the statement said.
