Nottingham Forest Signs Striker Lamin Sillah

Africa-Press – Gambia. Gambian U20 international Lamin Sillah has arrived at the City Ground on a deal until 2028

Nottingham Forest have given a huge boost to their academy with the signing of a “young” and “hungry” goal scoring striker.

Lamin Sillah officially joined the Reds on Wednesday, signing a three-year deal that will come to an end in the summer of 2028.

The Gambian international arrives from Greek side Olympiacos and will be a part of Warren Joyce’s B Team squad for the forthcoming 2025/26 season.

At just 19-years-old, Sillah has already built a promising standing in the game, scoring nine times and assisting five others in just 17 games in the U19 Super League.

His first goal came on his debut, netting the winner against Panathinaikos.

Speaking on the signing to club media, Craig Mulholland—the Head of Football & Development & Talent Management at Forest—said: “It’s really important our emerging talent pool has a blend of the best players from the local area who have come through our academy, as well as top talent from around the world.

“Lamin is someone who has high potential, and we’re delighted to have added a goal scoring attacker to Warren’s young, exciting squad.

“He arrives here hungry to improve. We wish Lamin well for the year ahead and we are all looking forward to seeing how he settles into the club.”

It comes nearly a year after young Sillah first started training with Nottingham Forest.

Last July, the forward—who at that point was playing his club football with Gambian first division side Steve Biko FC—was attracting a lot of interest from clubs across the world due to his impressive form, where he scored 14 and assisted four, but opted for a move to Greece instead.

It’s been a busy summer transfer window for the Nottingham Forest senior squad too, signing Brazilian duo Jair Cunha and Igor Jesus, while Nuno Espirito Santo was dealt a huge blow following the shocking departure of Anthony Elanga to Premier League rivals Newcastle United.
