Africa-Press – Gambia. AfriMoney, the mobile money service operated by telecommunications leader Africell, has officially named celebrated Gambian rapper Abdoulie Gaye—widely known by his stage name Attack—as its first-ever brand ambassador.

The landmark partnership reflects AfriMoney’s strategic efforts to strengthen its connection with young, tech-savvy audiences while reinforcing its image as an innovative, accessible financial platform. As brand ambassador, Attack will promote AfriMoney’s services and represent the brand’s values of creativity, empowerment, and progress.

Speaking at the signing ceremony held on Friday, Simon K. Andersson Manjang, Director of AfriMoney, emphasized the alignment between the artist’s influence and the brand’s vision.

“The future is bright, and we will support Attack in all of his musical endeavors, and I know together we will have a couple of exciting years in front of us,” he said.

Attack, a prominent figure in The Gambia’s music industry, expressed great enthusiasm and pride in assuming the role.

He described being AfriMoney’s inaugural brand ambassador as a significant milestone for both himself and his team.

Committed to driving meaningful impact through the partnership, Attack declared, “Get ready for AfriMoney and Attack.”

He noted that the partnership aligns seamlessly with his current creative trajectory and long-term ambitions.

Also addressing the gathering, Waka Jagne, Senior PR and Events Manager at Africell, emphasized the broader cultural relevance of the collaboration.

He described Attack as a talented and versatile artist who serves as a powerful voice for the people, particularly the youth.

Jagne further highlighted that Attack’s values and artistic journey mirror AfriMoney’s evolution as a brand.

“We are proud to have him on board and prouder for him to be our first-ever ambassador,” Jagne said.

AfriMoney currently supports a customer base of over 1.5 million users across four countries: The Gambia, Sierra Leone, Angola, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
