Barrow Eyes Victory in 2026 with 75% Vote Goal

Africa-Press – Gambia. President Adama Barrow has announced that his party is targeting 75% of the vote in the 2026 presidential election, expressing confidence in his government’s competence and development record to achieve this ambitious goal.

Speaking at a women’s rally held over the weekend in Janjanbureh, the President recalled securing 53% of the vote in the 2021 election. He now intends to surpass that figure significantly.

“We have launched our campaign for 2026. We are not slowing down we are accelerating,” Barrow declared. “When you’re up against an opponent you can easily defeat, you aim high and strike decisively. That’s exactly what we will do to the opposition.”

“I am challenging everyone here as he reflected on 2021, we won with 53%. In 2026, I want us to reach 75%. We can do it. We have the capacity, the people, and the leadership to achieve it. But the key to success is unity. If we remain united, no opposition can unseat this government.”

President Barrow revealed his administration’s record, stating that his government has delivered more development projects and national progress than any opposition party.

“We have more projects, better facilities, and stronger support,” he stated. “The majority of good and capable citizens are rallying behind President Barrow and the NPP. But without unity, we risk losing that support. Unity is our greatest strength.”

He highlighted achievements in expanding electricity access, improving road infrastructure, and investing in education and healthcare, he believes these areas distinguishes his administration from previous governments.

“There are many achievements to highlight, but I won’t reveal everything here in Janjanbureh,” he said. “As we continue our nationwide rallies, we will share more of our accomplishments with the Gambian people..
