Africa-Press – Gambia. Greater Tomorrow Football Club has been crowned champions of the Gambia Football Federation Cup after defeating TMT Football Club.

Today Makes Tomorrow (TMT) lost the trophy for the second time in two consecutive seasons, with both defeats coming on post-match penalty shootouts.

Greater Tomorrow FC won 3-2 in a well-attended match at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on Sunday.

In a well-contested and hard-fought game, TMT was reduced to ten men in the 60th minute when central referee Lamin K. Jammeh sent off their midfield maestro Foday Tamba for a second bookable offence. Despite being a man down, they held on for a goalless stalemate at the end of regulation time.

TMT had two chances to take advantage in the post-match shootouts but squandered both opportunities as Greater Tomorrow came from behind to win the cup.

TMT affiliates were left disappointed and in disbelief as they succumbed yet again to defeat, following last year’s final loss to Medina United under similar circumstances.

As winners, Greater Tomorrow received a giant trophy, gold medals, and D500,000, while TMT FC went home with silver medals and a consolation prize of D300,000.
