Africa-Press – Gambia. Both Elephant Tree FC and Sinchu Jola Kunda FC have secured places in the Brikama Sports Committee (BSC) Summer Nawettan qualifiers final round, moving closer to their dream of competing in the league.
Lamin-based Elephant Tree FC edged past Supernovas FA with a narrow 1-0 victory in a tightly contested match. Elephant Tree controlled much of the game and finally broke the deadlock in the 81st minute when substitute Debedu Mendy found the back of the net.
Supernovas FA adopted a counter-attacking approach, which kept the game level in the first half, but the strategy was unable to contain Elephant Tree’s dominance in the latter stages.
In another intense clash, Sinchu Jola Kunda FC defeated Future Stars by the same 1-0 scoreline. The first half ended goalless, but Kebba Njie’s brilliant backheel just after the break secured the win for the visitors.
This victory marks Sinchu Jola Kunda FC’s second playoff spot in three years, after missing out on qualification in their first attempt.
With both sides advancing to the final round, fans can look forward to an exciting conclusion to the BSC Summer Nawettan qualifiers.
