Africa-Press – Gambia. At a National People’s Party (NPP) gathering in Kerr Serign, Seedy S.K. Njie, Deputy Spokesperson of the NPP and Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, declared that President Adama Barrow and his government are “incorruptible.”
The event, which featured the distribution of football jerseys, cooking utensils, and D40,000 to residents, was used by Njie to highlight the government’s commitment to development. He said the NPP’s vision is rooted in peace, progress, and national stability, contrasting it with what he described as the opposition’s reliance on “insults, violence, and ridicule.”“2026 will be a defining moment, a moment to choose between hope, development, progress, peace, stability, respect, and cohesion or choose that of insult, ridicule, and people belittling,” Njie stated.
Njie also criticized the United Democratic Party (UDP) for its stance on the issuance of ID cards abroad, arguing that it reflects a desire to decide who qualifies as Gambian. He insisted that the NPP represents the solution to the country’s challenges and is already addressing them, saying, “this shows that the National People’s Party is the solution to the problem of this country, and we are solving it.”
He concluded by urging all eligible Gambians, especially those who have recently turned 18, to ensure they obtain their voter’s cards ahead of the next elections.
