Africa-Press – Gambia. Mr. Modou Camara, proprietor of Outsource Recruitment Company, recently concluded a two-week training program at the Russian Foreign Trade Academy.
According to sources, this was aimed at enhancing Camara’s understanding of conducting business in Russia. The program covered Russian language, culture, and trade negotiation strategies, as well as practical business engagement.
During his visit, Mr. Camara participated in business-to-business (B2B) meetings with Russian companies and toured several key facilities, including the Moscow Export Centre and MOSMEDPARK. MOSMEDLAB, a medical technology hub, was among the highlights of his trip. The facility supports the entry of medical devices and pharmaceuticals into the Russian market, assisting with documentation, registration certificates, financing, product trials, and sales.
At MOSMEDLAB, Camara observed innovative health-assessment devices designed for individual use, capable of providing early indications of potential illnesses. He also noted that similar devices are used to monitor cattle for infections, demonstrating the breadth of applications for Russian medical technologies.
At the Moscow Export Centre, the CEO explained that the institution facilitates connections between Moscow-based businesses and international partners. The centre aims to expand collaborations across sectors such as tourism, education, and manufacturing. Camara was encouraged by Russia’s openness to establishing new business partnerships, describing it as a significant opportunity for Gambian enterprises and government agencies.
“The Russian Foreign Trade Academy also expressed interest in welcoming Gambian students through exchange programs, providing an avenue for educational collaboration between the two countries,” he remarked.
Mr. Camara concluded that the visit highlighted numerous opportunities for both private and public sectors in The Gambia. He suggested that entities such as the Gambia Chamber of Commerce, GIEPA, and the Ministry of Tourism consider engaging with Russian counterparts to foster trade, investment, and educational exchanges.
“This is a prime opportunity for The Gambia to strengthen ties with Russia, not only in trade but also in education and tourism,” he said, emphasizing the potential benefits for both nations.
