Africa-Press – Gambia. Fatou Jaw Manneh has officially announced her candidacy for The Gambia’s 2026 presidential election, presenting a platform centered on what she calls dignity, opportunity, and prosperity for all Gambians.
Her campaign agenda, she disclosed, aims to address critical sectors, including education, healthcare, economic development, national security, and foreign relations.
When reached for comment on her announcement, Ms. Manneh stated, “Just make the announcement for now. Will let you know about interviews later.” She also requested additional time before sharing the motivations behind her decision to run for the presidency. Further details regarding her campaign are expected to be released in due course.
Ms. Manneh previously served as President Adama Barrow’s honorary adviser on strategic affairs, development, and emerging social issues. She resigned from this position in 2021 following the formation of the NPP/APRC alliance.
