Africa-Press – Gambia. Real De Daru F.C. has been crowned champions of the Hon. Bakary Y. Badjie Super Cup after defeating Golden United F.C. in a penalty shootout on Sunday, September 7th, 2025. The match, played at the Kunkunjang Keitaya football field, saw Real De Daru win 4-2 on penalties after the tightly contested final ended in a draw.
This victory marks a significant achievement for Real De Daru, completing a cup double over Golden United, whom they also defeated in the league final last season. The win reinforces their status as the dominant team in the Kunkunjang Keitaya football scene, a position previously held by Miami City F.C. for the last three years.
The final was a well-attended event, graced by several prominent figures, including Hon. Bakary Y. Badjie, Minister of Youth & Sports, Hon. Seedy S.K. Njie, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Mr. Sadibou Kamaso, head of Team Restore Confidence (TRC).
As champions, Real De Daru F.C. was awarded a giant trophy, a set of jerseys, and a cash prize of D7,000. Golden United, as the runners-up, received a consolation prize of D5,000 and a set of jerseys.
