Fofana Dismisses Bensouda as Political Amateur

Africa-Press – Gambia. Kebba Lang Fofana, nominated National Assembly Member and National Youth Wing Secretary General of the National People’s Party (NPP), has sharply criticized Kanifing Municipal Council Mayor Talib Ahmed Bensouda’s recent political moves, describing them as inconsistent and amateurish.

His remarks follow Bensouda’s unveiling of a new political platform, United for Change, ahead of the 2026 presidential elections. Despite launching the movement, the mayor has yet to formally sever ties with the United Democratic Party (UDP), a decision Fofana described as contradictory.

“Why is Talib afraid of resigning from UDP? Is Talib provoking an expulsion from UDP? Are the missteps in Talib’s speech deliberately manipulative or a total amateur’s performance?” Fofana asked.

He argued that Bensouda’s approach only exposes confusion within the opposition and ultimately strengthens President Adama Barrow’s re-election bid.

“The questions go on and on and on. The one thing I know for sure is 2026 is already an easy ride for my winning candidate, President Adama Barrow,” Fofana declared.
