Africa-Press – Gambia. The Brikama United Football Club has announced the appointment of Bakary Mankajang as its new head coach ahead of the Gambia Football Federation Division One season.

Mankajang, who guided Greater Tomorrow FC to the GFF Cup final last season, resigned shortly before the final against TMT, with his former team eventually winning the cup.

He succeeds Modou Touray, who led Brikama United last season after leaving fellow Brikama-based club Bombada FC.

“Brikama United Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Sheriff Mankajang as the club’s new head coach,” the club stated on Wednesday.

Mankajang has signed a two-year contract, with an option for a one-year extension, and is expected to officially commence training with the team on Thursday.

The club also confirmed that former head coach Modou Touray will remain on board as Technical Director, ensuring continuity within the technical structure.

Brikama United expressed full confidence in Mankajang’s leadership as the team begins preparations for the upcoming season, emphasizing the club’s commitment to building a competitive squad.
